Deaf and Hard of Hearing Bar Association (DHHBA) 2024 Conference

Chicago, Illinois

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Bar Association (DHHBA) will host its second biannual conference on July 1-2, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois. The conference theme is: Reconnect. Advocacy. Community.  We invite you to share your expertise and experiences with our audience of Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late-Deafened, DeafBlind, and DeafDisabled attorneys, judges, legal professionals, and law students in the United States and Canada.

 

Proposal Guidelines:

We welcome all proposals and encourage submissions that cover the following topics:

 

  • Employment discrimination
  • Ethical issues
  • Best practices and advocacy for law school
  • Workplace accommodations
  • Courthouse accommodations 

 

We anticipate providing (4) one-hour sessions, one of which will cover ethics. We will apply for continuing legal education (CLE) credits for all 4 sessions.

 

Process for Submission:

The following information is required for each submission:

 

  • Session title
  • Abstract (maximum of 200 words)
  • Three learning objectives
  • Lead presenter name and contact information.
  • Names, pronouns, and short biography (limit to 150 words) of all speakers

 

Please note that sessions will be presenter style. 

 

Deadline for Submissions is February 29, 2024.
